SIDELIGHTING FOR BATHROOM MIRROR?

I think your mirror area is too wide to have only side lighting. What is popular is to have a smaller framed mirror with sconces closer on each side at face level. This gives good light with the right sconces. Another style is to have strip fixtures vertical between sections of mirror but again closer to you. Lights on the sides and above is very common. The most popular look right now is the framed mirror with complementary sconces on each side and a recessed fixture centered on the sink bowl to highlight the faucet and bowl. For makeup areas the lighting should surround you to eliminate shadows.
