Tell your electrician to put in a Lutron Maestro master with two remotes. You will have quiet switches and they all can dim. You can also program the master Maestro to come on at a dim level as the default so it will always be at the right setting no matter where it was left last.

With some dimmers it is OK to have both low and line voltage together but you have to use a dimmer rated for the low voltage. Lutron says it is OK but not all brands do.
